Krishna Prasad Dhakal

Author Gopal Parajuli, who has established distinguished originality and significance in the field of Nepali literature by opening newer dimensions in various genres, presents human sensitivity and consciousness of the present time through the beautiful, palatable and significant turns he has invented in his works in various genres like stories, plays and poems. More than anything else, they have appeared in epics.

This modern epic Deshmathi Aalkeh (A Salute to the Nation) with an organized presentation of feelings, has in one hand addressed the intense poetic thirst of the readers, and on the other, presented consciousness that befits the present time besides inspiring the readers to fight against temporal, especially political and social malice, revolt against them, and declare a war.

Instead of getting stuck to subjective expressions and purgation of personal repressions, the poet has, in this epic, dealt with a universal subject through his ideological contemplation, expression of rage, reiteration of commitments and potent articulation of its explosion.

For such reasons, Deshmathi Aalkeh has added to the glory of Nepali literature.
