Gopal Parajuli can be credited to have created a niche in Nepali literature – the niche that has been ensured by Madan Puraskar. Although Parajuli has not completely broken himself with the traditional poetry, he sounds strikingly modern and in a way, post-modern without being too abstract to understand. That reminds one of what T.S.Eliot said about the tradition and individual talent. Parajuli is clearly influenced by the contemporary events taking place in Nepal as well as the rest of the world.
Gopal Parajuli is a voice of our times.
