As the subject of his latest epic, poet Gopal Parajuli has picked up incidents of bloodshed from Narayanhiti Royal Palace to Washington DC and New York and the pain, resentment and woe engendered by them. Pain and sorrows do not differ in accordance with the demarcation of geography and the color of the skin. Feeling ‘our’ and ‘their’ pain, the poet has expressed the same as his own sorrow, calling out to God and even challenging Him. Samayako Prasthan (Departure of Time) has highlighted questions and dilemmas of mine and several others like me.
