Garima, a literary monthly being published by the state-owned top-seeded publication house Sajha Prakashan has, always been an A-class magazine. Incorporating contemporary literary assumptions and practices at regional, national and even international levels, it publishes creative works in various genres (poetry, story, play, essay, criticism etc.) and various other items. The magazine is entering glorious twenty-fifth year of its launch. Except in some unavoidable instances, regularity, novelty and quality have been its trademarks. There also are various positive comments in print about Garima.

Garima, a high-order literary periodical, has the privilege of having a modern creative writer as its editor. Its clear reflection is seen in the editorials Garima has published. It is quite a different matter to think if all editors need to be creative, or all creative writers need to be editors for that matter. But in the case of Garima, the presence of a creative writer as its editor had led to the delivery of editorials that read like an accomplished essay with special literary significance. In most of the cases, readers do not read forewords to books or editorials in periodicals. Moreover, many forewords and editorials are not even worth reading. Against this background, Garima has made all its editorials an instance of high-order literature. Parajuli is himself an established poet as an experimentalist, and the editorials written by him reflect the influence of modern poetic works. These editorials, therefore, have become poetic documents. Each editorial can be read in the taste of a poem, while the gravity of its content is the central issue. The editor appears committed toward human existence and authorial freedom. The editorials are characterized by short sentences, aphoristic statements, well-organized prose, high-class literariness, primacy of creativity, influence of originality, humanistic concerns and experimentalism.  The existential thoughts, patriotism, feeling of unity for national integration, simplicity, comprehensibility and influential rendering have made these editorials excellent as creative works.
